Often, a first time visitor to Olthoff Racing will
enter our showroom and be quite 'speechless'.
The fit and finish of the Superformance line is
unmatched in the industry.

And on many occasions one of our satisfied customers has been present. Our customers have always been our greatest salespersons. The enthusiastic response is all it takes for the prospective buyer to realize the basic premise, "Do you want to build a car? Or drive one?" Here are some letters from our owners.

Dear Bob, Baby, and Dennis:

As my #672 Superformance rolls over 50,000 miles I wanted to send you a letter of appreciation for providing this fine automobile for me. I had wanted a Cobra since the mid '60's, and looked at replicas since the late '70's. When my son Chris and I first saw an SPF at an Auto fair, we agreed that we would someday have an SPF, or no replica at all; the difference between the Superformance cars and all others I had examined the past 20+ years was that profound.

Chris and I have over 600 hard race course laps in our car, and it has traveled down the 1/4 mile drag strip almost 70 times. We have been in ice and snow, drenching rain, scorching sun, and as far as 1200 miles from home for a race, driving both there and back. I don't think there could be a better car for the rural and backcountry roads of the Carolinas. The extraordinary nimble handling, the frightful acceleration, and the sure-footed braking make for a really fast road car. On a flat road, it will track straight and true, hands off the wheel, for over a half mile "at speed."

Our car has been the most reliable automobile I have ever owned. It has never overheated, or failed to start no matter how cold or hot or wet it is. The paint glistens as if it were painted yesterday, even though it sits under the blistering summer Carolina sun much of the time. It is tight, solid, and there are no cracks or squeaks or rattles, no matter how hard we hammer it. I am proud to have an engine that does not leak a drop of fluid, and gets such reasonable MPG, even considering the countless hundreds of rest stops we have blasted out of, it being our custom to always cruise all highway rest stops we encounter.

The very best thing of all is the father and son bonding that the car has facilitated, between my son Chris and me. He has had in-car racetrack instruction by four professional drivers, which of course include you and Dennis, which has given him immeasurably increased driving skill and experience. He always drives when we are out together, with him heel and toeing as well as any driver ever did. We have laughed and smiled, and talked so many hours over the crackle of the sidepipe, and for this most of all, I wish to express my thanks to you, Baby, and Dennis.

All the best,

Hal Copple MD

Hi Dennis,

Just went over and brought the Cobra home today. Ron Bakios did a marvelous job. The car handles like a very large dream!!!!! It is absolutely fabulous to drive and is somewhat like a - Go Cart - sticking to the road during real quick turns under acceleration and deceleration along with some hard braking. I can't believe the difference these new Bilstein shock coil spring combination have made to the handling of the little monster. All I can say is, what a wise choice it was when I spoke with Dennis Olthoff of Olthoff Racing in NC.

The pure weight of the old shocks and springs compared to the new system is perhaps 40% lighter in weight than the old. The ride is smoother and you can actually feel the road much better. The steering response seems quicker and much more sure footed. The poly- urethane replacement bushings on the front sway bar definitely helped enhance the steering.

I plan to recommend this setup to some friends, not only with Cobras but I know a few guys with Mustangs.

I want to take this opportunity to thank Dennis Olthoff for" steering me in the right direction". He knows what I am referring to, right Den??

Have a good one guys and thanks again Den - for your help on the suspension!!

All the best, Den SPF593
